College GameDay is headed to Atlanta for the SEC Championship Game. Did Lee Corso pick favorite Alabama or take a shot with the underdogs, Georgia?

The SEC Championship Game is hosting College GameDay for the second year in a row. As long as Alabama and Georgia are running through their respective divisions that figures to be a trend that will continue into the future. It has certainly set the stage for an all-important contest with massive College Football Playoff implications this year.

Both Alabama and Georgia have been featured on the show once this season. Georgia blasted Florida 36-17 in the World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail party and Alabama smoked LSU 29-0 in Death Valley. There weren’t many opportunities for GameDay to visit because both teams won the majority of their games handily. Will that be the case again on Championship Saturday?

Rece Davis, Kirk HerbstreitDesmond Howard, Lee Corso and guest picker Quavo from Migos shared the wrap around desk, joking and laughing as they made their picks for the final full weekend of games in the college football regular season. There was plenty of chalk along the way with a few interesting upset picks scattered in the mix. Then it came time to pick the big game and Corso made his selection with trademarked vigor:

Next. Picks for every conference championship game. dark

Championship week got out to a mixed start. NIU thundered back from a four-score deficit to topple Buffalo in the MAC Championship on Friday night. At the same time, Washington topped Utah in a Pac-12 Championship Game that featured zero offensive touchdowns and four interceptions.

Saturday hopes to live up to the hype. Oklahoma gets a rematch with Texas in the Big 12 Championship Game, UCF will try to beat Memphis sans McKenzie Milton in the American Championship and the ACC and Big Ten end the night with Pitt vs Clemson and Ohio State vs Northwestern, respectively. Who will do enough to secure a College Football Playoff berth?
