College Football Playoff Rankings 2018: Selection Sunday Top 25 projections
By Zach Bigalke
With conference championship weekend now in the books, who will the selection committee put into their final College Football Playoff Top 25 of 2018?
Conference championship weekend offered the opportunity for some major upsets to transpire, and for a while it looked like we might see several undefeated teams tumble on Saturday. But ultimately the same four teams that entered the weekend with perfect records completed the first day of December with zeroes in the loss column.
With everything going to chalk, one spot opens up in the top four of the College Football Playoff Top 25 after Alabama’s come-from-behind victory over Georgia in the SEC championship game. The Bulldogs will slip from the No. 4 spot where they started the weekend, though they should remain in the top 10 when the selection committee releases its final set of rankings on Selection Sunday.
Given some churn at the bottom of the Top 25, we will likely also see a couple of new teams make their way into the rankings this week. There will be some shuffling throughout after the results of the final weekend of the regular season.
Where will everyone fall when the dust settles? Keep reading for our final projections of the College Football Playoff Top 25 for the 2018 season ahead of the committee’s Sunday release.
