The 2018 Las Vegas Bowl between Fresno State and Arizona State football will be more exciting than people realize. Here’s why you should watch on Dec. 15.

It’s been quite the year for Arizona State. The Sun Devils didn’t exactly have sky-high expectations with Herm Edwards entering his first season as a collegiate head coach, but he silenced the doubters, going 7-5 overall and making a bowl game with a late shot at a Pac-12 South title.

The Sun Devils got solid play from Manny Wilkins and N’Keal Harry, but the latter won’t be participating in the Las Vegas Bowl against Fresno State, instead preparing for the NFL draft.

They started the season 2-0 and jumped into the AP Top 25 with a win over Michigan State, but lost to San Diego State the following week and then fell to Washington.

Arizona State wasn’t far from a special season, though, as it lost plenty of battles of inches, losing by no more than seven points all season. In fact, 4-of-5 losses were by a single touchdown and the Oregon defeat was by only two.

The season could end on a high note against Fresno State, and here’s why you should watch the Las Vegas Bowl on Dec. 15.

3. Eno Benjamin is a star in the making

Don’t know the name Eno Benjamin yet? This bowl season is the perfect opportunity to see one of the nation’s top up-and-coming running backs who happens to be just a redshirt freshman.

Benjamin, a former Army All-American, is a joy to watch and a star in the making, posting over 1,500 rushing yards this season. He was ranked the No. 6 running back in the 2017 class and decided to stick it out with Herm Edwards when the coaching change was announced.

That paid huge dividends as he broke out and even recorded a 300-yard rushing game, a school record, earlier in the season against Oregon State.

Edwards has to be happy with what he’s gotten from Benjamin and it’s only the beginning as he could soon become the Pac-12’s top rusher.
