Jeff Monken ready to leave?

The Army Black Knight’s head coach, Jeff Monken, has completely turned around his second program in two different attempts. Prior to being hired at Army, Monken took Georgia Southern to three FCS Semifinals in four years. In the past three years at Army, he has beaten Navy twice(this year still pending), has earned two bowl game wins(this year still to go), has a 27-10 record, and has brought Army into the Top 25 for the first time in over two decades.

There will be a handful of head coaching jobs available this offseason. Army isn’t the final destination for Monken and he won’t hesitate to take the best job available. And you can’t really blame him.

Coaching at Army is an incredibly noble, fun, and unique experience. However, as a coach looking to create a legacy, there are bigger schools to go to with a much larger football program.
