Friday night

Maine at Weber State, 8:00 p.m. EST, ESPN2

The first matchup of the weekend comes to us via Weber State and Maine, the second and seventh seeds, respectively. Weber State is fresh off a blowout win over Southeast Missouri State, 48-23, that saw quarterback Jake Constantine throw four touchdowns and running back Treshawn Garrett pick up 134 yards on just 17 carries. Meanwhile, Maine is coming off their own blowout win, a 55-27 trouncing of Jacksonville State. These are two teams that can, and will score a lot of points.

One sentence sell: This has shootout potential, and that’s what Friday games are all about.

Colgate at North Dakota State, 12:00 p.m. EST, ESPN

You already know who North Dakota State is. They’re the most dominant dynasty in college football, and, you’ll never believe this, but they’re awesome again. They’re the top seed, while Colgate, repping the Patriot League, comes in as the eight seed. It would be a hefty upset for Colgate to get the win, but with one of the best defenses in the country, it doesn’t feel impossible.

One sentence sell: This is probably going to be the best game of the whole day.
