Army vs Navy Football: Black Knights extend winning streak to three

The 2018 Army-Navy football game was a battle from the start. The Army Black Knights and the Navy Midshipmen fought down to the wire before Army prevailed.

The Army-Navy Game is an annual tradition that epitomizes what college football is all about. The rivalry is ever fruitful, and yet the two team’s uphold the highest standards of sportsmanship. On the field, they are sworn enemies. Off the field, they are Brothers-In-Arms.

The Army Black Knights entered the game heavily favored, with a 9-2 record on the year and ranking of number 22 in the AP Poll. As for the Navy Midshipmen, they have struggled this year accumulating a 3-9 record.

Army’s Kelvin Hopkins Jr. scored on the opening drive of the game in only two minutes and 26 seconds. Hopkins finished the game with 124 total yards and two touchdowns.  After the opening score, the game appeared to out of reach for the Midshipmen. However, Navy’s defense kept them in the game.

At the start of the fourth quarter, Army was winning, 10-0. The Midshipmen brought the game to within three points after a Garret Lewis score with less than eight minutes to go in the game. Navy made a push for the comeback, but it was not enough.

In the end, Army came out on top, 17-10. Let’s take a look at what else we learned from this game.
