UCLA football will have plenty to ask for this holiday season but what are the five most important things on every Bruins fan’s list.

It was a rough season for UCLA as the Bruins went just 3-9 in Chip Kelly’s first year as head coach. While that may seem like all bad news, the Bruins will be returning plenty of talent next season and, well, Kelly’s offense can only improve — same can be said about the defense.

The Bruins did end the year strong, beating rival USC in the second-to-last week of the regular season to cap off a disappointing season with an optimistic showing.

Neither USC or UCLA made a bowl game this year, which is a rare occurrence, but the Bruins could be back next season, along with the Trojans. With the holidays approaching, there is plenty for UCLA to ask for.

What is on every UCLA football fan’s wish list?

5. A bowl game

This one’s easy. Every UCLA fan has a bowl game on their wish lists for 2019, and there’s a good chance the Bruins could be playing a postseason game next season despite going just 3-9 in 2018.

People expected the Bruins to take a slight step back with a new coach at the helm, but I don’t think anyone saw a 3-9 season. There’s just far too much talent on this team to repeat that performance next season, especially with Chip Kelly able to have more control over his team and players.

No college football fans likes to watch bowl season when their favorite team doesn’t have a game on the postseason schedule. The Bruins won’t have to worry about that next season.

The most obvious wish on the list has to be a bowl game in 2019.
