Clay Webb is one the highest ranked centers in recent years. Despite many favoring Alabama, could Georgia football land this once in a lifetime player?

On Dec. 10, five-star center Clay Webb is set to make his announcement between Georgia, Alabama, Auburn and Clemson. Webb is an extremely low-key and quiet player. He is very quiet on the social media front and isn’t attached to his phone. That fact makes him all the more exciting and all the more mysterious in terms of his upcoming decision.

It seems that Clemson is all but out of the picture — despite Webb’s mom favoring the Tigers — and Alabama is the leading program in the fight for the 2019 five-star. However, do the Georgia Bulldogs have a push here? Could they land this game-changer?

3. Webb’s entire family is from Georgia

This is an extremely important fact for a guy like Clay Webb, a guy who holds his family and the relationships with them in high regard. His mother hails from Georgia and as a result the majority of his family lives in that area.

He has more than once commented on the family atmosphere of many different schools, especially that of Clemson — though the Tigers seem to be all but out of the race for his affections and soon his commitment.

How much of a roll will his family play in the commitment process? Many aren’t so sure it means much of anything. I, however, disagree. If you are moving out of state — which Webb would be if he chooses the Bulldogs over the Tide — having family close by is a big deal. That, in itself, could be a big time pull to Georgia for Webb.
