38. Cure Bowl: Louisiana vs. Tulane (Dec. 15)
Tulane is going bowling for the first time since 2013 and just the third time in the 21st century. That’s worth something, for sure, but their matchup in the AutoNation Cure Bowl against a 7-6 Louisiana side that faded down the stretch in the Sun Belt championship game is hardly one to turn heads.
The two schools from the Bayou State meet up in Orlando for the first of three bowl games at Camping World Stadium. This is by far the least interesting of the trio, at least for casual observers.
What this game is likely to feature is a ton of yards on the ground, given that both teams rank in the top 30 nationally in rushing offense. They each boast a solid backfield, but neither team is particularly great at stopping the run.
Other than the possibility of turnovers when Louisiana gets into passing situations and Tulane is on the ground, the showdown between the Ragin’ Cajuns and the Green Wave has the novelty of seeing a school back in a bowl game, but otherwise there are more watchable games on the first day of bowl season.
