2019 NFL Mock Draft: Kyler Murray headlines first round risers before Bowl season
The Green Bay Packers have some of the best players in the NFL at various positions: Aaron Rodgers at quarterback, Devante Adams at wide receiver, Clay Matthews at linebacker, etc.
Now that they have fired head coach, Mike McCarthy, the future of the franchise is uncertain. Will they quickly rebound to make a push for a championship next year? Or will they start to rebuild and give one last go in a few years towards the end of Aaron Rodgers’ career?
In either case, drafting Jeffery Simmons, out of Mississippi State, will aid in those efforts. Simmons is a large body who can play both on the inside of the defensive line, or outside as an edge rusher. This versatility makes it much more difficult for offensive lines to track where he is lining up and game plan accordingly. He has primarily played on the inside for the Bulldogs, but that is largely due to Montez Sweat being present on the outside (more on him later).
