The Utah football program could get a much-needed boost in recruiting if they landed a commitment from four-star quarterback prospect Jayden Daniels.

Jayden Daniels played high school football in San Bernardino, Calif., at Cajon High School, where he earned himself over 20 Division-I scholarship offers. Playing right in their backyard, a handful of Pac-12 teams were interested in signing Daniels, too, including Arizona, Arizona State, California, Oregon, Utah, and Washington State.

Daniels has narrowed his decision to four schools — Arizona State, California, Utah and UCLA — and he announced via Twitter his plans to commit on Dec. 13. Each opportunity provides a unique challenge, but any of them would be a great stepping stone for Daniels’ future.

It seems like something special is brewing with Herm Edwards at Arizona State, while the potential to play for Chip Kelly and the Bruins is about as enticing as ever. Daniels would add to an already strong Cal Bears’ recruiting class, but if he went to Utah — if Daniels chose the Utes – he alone would catapult their incoming class into relevancy.

Daniels, rated a four-star prospect by both Rivals and 247sports, is a highly-regarded recruit and could make a big difference in the immediate future. Follow along for three reasons Utah should be his destination.
