With four-star dual-threat quarterback Jayden Daniels set to commit on Thursday, here’s why he will decide to join Herm Edwards at Arizona State.

One recruit can change everything.

Whether it’s the recruit that makes the team or the recruit that opens up a whole state’s recruits to that school, it is one recruit that can change everything. The hiring of Herm Edwards was surprising and somewhat laughable at first but it seems now that it may have been a great hire by Vice President of Football Operations Ray Anderson.

Edwards almost took home the Pac-12 South in his first season and has 20 recruits committed to play for the Sun Devils next season. Arizona State currently has the 35th ranked recruiting class going into this week and a commitment from Jayden Daniels would be huge for this program.

Daniels is the second-ranked dual-threat in the nation (according to 247Sports) and hails from San Bernadino, Calif. A signing from a kid this close to Los Angeles would be huge for the program as they would have gained an edge over local school UCLA who seems like they are trying to make a run for the dual-threat quarterback as well.

Daniels finished as a finalist in the Elite 11 competition and Nike’s The Opening while also being selected as an Under Armour All-American in the process.

In his senior season, Daniels passed for 4,515 yards with a 60-4 touchdown-to-interception ratio while adding 1,500 yards on the ground with 16 scores. The player comparison that I’ve seen most for the San Bernadino product is Deshaun Watson. He’s an incredible runner but he would rather stay in the pocket and make a play with his arm which is very similar to Deshaun Watson who plays a similar game.

With Daniels’ decision only days away, why will he leave home for Tempe, Ariz.?
