Florida State Football: 5 holiday wish list items for Seminoles in 2019

4. An offensive coordinator
Of the many reasons Noles were most excited to see Willie Taggart in Tallahassee, perhaps top of the list was his reputation as an offensive coach.
This season, however, with the offense sputtering, Taggart handed over play-calling duties to offensive coordinator Walt Bell. The results were similarly lackluster. And when the season ended, Bell took the first plane out of Tallahassee, opting for the head coaching vacancy at the University of Massachusetts.
Now the Noles are tasked with finding a new offensive coordinator. And a few interesting names have been bandied about.
Most notable is Kendal Briles, son of disgraced former head coach Art Briles. Off the field concerns aside, Briles certainly makes sense — he runs a similar spread-tempo offense to the one Taggart is struggling to establish in Tallahassee.
One thing is for sure: no matter who takes over as offensive coordinator, they will have their hands full as Taggart shifts his attention to the larger cultural issues that plague the program.
