Five-star defensive end Kayvon Thibodeaux is set to announce his college decision on Saturday. Here’s why he’ll choose Alabama football.
One of the most sought after prospects in the country, and the top-ranked uncommitted prospect according to 247Sports, is set to make his college decision on Saturday, Dec. 15.
The five-star defensive end from Thousand Oaks, Calif., is the No. 2 player in the 247Sports composite rankings and has received interest from programs all over the country to entice the dynamic pass rusher to sign with their school.
Out of all the offers he holds, Thibodeaux’s college decision appears to be down to Alabama, Florida State, and Oregon despite a recent visit to Gainesville.
At 6-foot-4 and 239 pounds, Thibodeaux has the size that could make him an immediate contributor as a freshman at the next level. He’s an elite athlete with a timed 4.6 40-yard-dash at The Opening last year.
Thibodeaux plans to enroll early so as to join whichever program he chooses for bowl practices (unless that program is Florida State), enrolling in school in January and getting a leg up on other freshmen by being apart of spring training.
Thibodeaux possesses the tools to one day be a first-round NFL draft pick, and will immediately push for playing time regardless of where he chooses to attend.
Oregon is the current leader according to the Crystal Ball, but he has been tight-lipped about his recruitment, declining to tip his hand on which school he is going to choose. The Ducks should probably be considered the favorite, but there’s some quiet optimism between both Alabama and Florida State that they can lure the five-star prospect down south.
The most recent Crystal Ball predictions have turned up crimson, as Nick Saban and company look to land the biggest remaining fish in the recruiting pond en route to potentially finishing with the best recruiting class in the history of the internet recruiting era.
Here are five reasons Thibodeaux will choose the Crimson Tide.
