1. Alabama sends more players to the NFL than anyone else
The goal of every prospect of Thibodeaux’s caliber is to play on Sunday’s, and no one has a better recent track record of developing talent and then sending that talent to the NFL than Alabama. Every week now there’s multiple Alabama players making waves.
Alabama alumni were especially dominant last week in the NFL, with a Titans franchise-best performance from Derrick Henry, and walk-off touchdowns from Amari Cooper and Kenyan Drake. That’s not to mention Mark Ingram tying the Saints career rushing touchdown record or Julio Jones’ ho-hum two-touchdown day or Eddie Jackson’s interception; there’s so many guys making plays now it’s hard to keep track.
Saban always attracts high-end talent to Tuscaloosa, but he also develops that talent better than anyone else, making it tough for blue-chip prospects to eschew an opportunity to join the Crimson Tide.
Coming into this season, Alabama has turned 48% of its five-star prospects that it has signed in recruiting into first round NFL Draft picks. The rest of college football is turning those five-stars into first round draft picks only 17% of the time, which is a staggering difference and something that you can bet Saban and his crew of ace recruiters plays up on the trail.
Alabama has gained some momentum for Thibodeaux’s signature, and it’s easy to see why he would have trouble turning down an offer to come to Tuscaloosa and become a part of The Process.
