2. Willie Fritz has figured out the Tulane offense

A fair amount of attention surrounded Tulane’s coaching staff at the conclusion of the regular season after head coach Willie Fritz fired offensive coordinator Doug Ruse.

Will Hall, in his first game as offensive coordinator, orchestrated Fritz’s unique triple-option attack to some impressive figures on Saturday afternoon. Besides the 28 first downs and 482 total yards of offense, Tulane controlled the ball in key moments of the game and bounced back from a pair of difficult turnovers in the third quarter.

A bold 4th-and-7 call by Hall and Fritz late in the fourth quarter allowed Tulane to score its first touchdown of the second half to go up 34-24. Look for Hall and the rest of the Green Wave offense to continue improving as they work during the offseason together. Hall joined the Tulane coaching staff from his most recent coaching stop, Memphis.
