1. The American Athletic Conference has first bragging rights

It may seem premature, and these results are often over-analyzed, but you need to hear it at least once: the American Athletic Conference continues to turn heads with its “Power Six” moniker when referring to the five major conferences of NCAA FBS — the SEC, Big 12, Big Ten, ACC, and Pac-12.

If the AAC wants to live up to this catchphrase, winning bowl games this month will help. The ramifications are serious: if Central Florida played in a more respected league, for example, its strength of schedule would not be as much as a detriment as it has been the past two seasons (the Knights have won 24 games in a row without sniffing a spot in the CFP).
