Tulane football fans brought laughter to just about every college football fan in the country tuned in to the Cure Bowl with a “we want Bama” chant.

The 2018 Cure Bowl has been the kickoff to FBS bowl season and it hasn’t disappointed thus far, especially if you’re a Tulane football fan.

The Green Wave, which have had a poor offense this season, have a comfortable halftime lead, but the fans are feeling themselves. Tulane fans were feeling a little confident in the second quarter with the Green Wave up 24-7, starting a ‘We want Bama’ chant.

Unfortunately, that chant backfired shortly after.

Everyone knows that the fans were just joking around, but it was definitely an eye-opening chant that no one who tuned in to the Cure Bowl expected to hear.

Louisiana (7-6) was the favorite to win this game, but Tulane (6-6) came out and scored 24 consecutive points after the Ragin Cajuns took a 7-0 lead. Louisiana kicked a field goal to end the half with a 24-10 deficit.

Sure, Tulane looks like a surprise team with an offense that has suddenly perked up in the bowl game after a disastrous regular season.

There’s still an entire second half to play, so a comeback is still possible for Louisiana and that would make this ‘We want Bama’ chant even more hilarious.

Sometimes you just need to let fans have their fun because they know darn well that if Tulane took on the Crimson Tide this bowl season, it wouldn’t end well.

But hey, the Green Wave are playing better than any team has this bowl season thus far and that’s good for something, right?
