Five-Star defensive end Zach Harrison is slated to make his college decision on the opening day of the early signing period. Here’s why he’ll choose Ohio State Football.

Five-Star defensive end Zach Harrison is the nation’s top uncommitted prospect according to the 247Sports composite rankings, sitting at No. 4 overall and is the top-ranked player in the state of Ohio.

It is assured that Harrison will play in the Big Ten next season as he has narrowed his list down to Ohio State, Michigan, and Penn State. While James Franklin and company have aggressively pursued him, ramping up the heat in particular over the last couple of weeks, the battle for Harrison’s signature appears to be down to the Buckeyes and Wolverines.

The current crystal ball favors Michigan, but the blue-chipper has been mum about his decision, with no expert having any real clear indication on where he might sign on Wednesday. Devoid of fanfare, Harrison plans on faxing in his letter-of-intent without making a big announcement as most other prospects do.

Harrison intends to enroll early and participate in bowl preparation for whichever school he chooses as well as going through spring practice with an eye toward contributing right away in 2019.

At 6-foot-5 and 243 pounds, Harrison ran a freakish timed 4.47 40-yard-dash at The Opening last year. He has the frame to come in and immediately contribute at the next level, and has drawn comparisons to former No. 1 overall NFL draft pick Jadeveon Clowney.

It seems to be 50-50 on whether Harrison decides to don the maize and blue or the scarlet and grey for the next three or four years, but the Buckeyes have several advantages that should aid in their chances of landing his signature.
