Utah Football: 5 holiday wish list items for Utes in 2019
1. A Pac-12 championship
Utah was oh so close to securing its first-ever Pac-12 title in 2018, losing by just a touchdown against Washington, 10-3. The Utes looked like serious contenders but didn’t quite have the offense in the final game of the year to take down the tough defensive unit in Washington.
The Pac-12 South will once again be open in 2019 with USC rebounding from a disastrous season and UCLA rebuilding. Arizona State could be the biggest contender for the title but Arizona could be an improved team as well with Colorado looking for answers after firing Mike McIntyre.
Fans have to be wishing for the ultimate prize in conference play after coming so close they could taste it in 2018.
A Pac-12 title should be at the top of every fan, coach and player’s wish list for 2019 because, well, it hasn’t happened before for the Utes and you know Kyle Whittingham is feeling the pressure of not bringing the crown home.
Utah needs a better recruiting class, an emerging running back, serviceable offensive coordinator who will stick and a healthy Tyler Huntley to achieve this goal. You could say that all these wishes connect to achieve No. 1.
