Florida Football: 5 early signees who’ll have instant impact in 2019

Over the past four years, Trent Whittemore has stepped on the field at Buchholz High School at quarterback, wide receiver, safety and cornerback. While it is unknown at this time where he’ll suit up for in regards to his college career at Florida, Whittemore has shown an ability to produce no matter the position.

Over the course of the past four years, Whittemore was a standout for his father, head coach Mark Whittemore, recording 1,374 yards receiving on 93 catches with 17 touchdowns. He also threw for over 1,000 yards with a dozen touchdowns, adding three more rushing scores.

Defense, though, could be where he gets his first crack to break into the lineup. Whittemore had almost 200 career tackles with seven for loss, seven interceptions, 28 pass breakups, a forced fumble and blocked field goal during his prep career. He selected Florida over Duke, Georgia Tech and Yale, among others.
