1. Familiarity

Look, few kids starting their first year at a new college are going to admit it. But family is important.

The Fields were involved in their son’s recruitment the first time, and they have already been involved this time, speaking on their son’s behalf.

If proximity is a factor, Florida State is the best fit. Fields is from Kennesaw, Georgia, which is about four hours from Tallahassee. That’s much closer than the flights needed to reach Norman, Oklahoma, or Columbus, Ohio.

Plus, Fields is familiar with Florida State. Along with Georgia, the Noles were a frontrunner for his services the first time around. And familiarity is a good thing when you’re the new guy in town.
