Iowa Football: 5 early signees who’ll have instant impact in 2019
While he is not the highest-rated recruit in Iowa’s 2019 class, Tyler Goodson has shown that he could very well have an immediate impact for Iowa next season. Goodson is a 5-foot-10, 192-pound running back, classified as an all-purpose back according to 247Sports. Some have compared Goodson to former Iowa running back Akrum Wadley, and watching his highlight tape, that comparison has some substance to it.
Watching his tape, Goodson has great ball-carrying vision, something you love to see in a running back as young as he is. The Akrum Wadley comparison really showed with his cutback ability, which was very reminiscent of Wadley in the highlight video with his ability to stop on a dime and make his cut. Goodson might actually have better top end speed the Wadley as he showed once he was in the open field he was gone.
While Iowa has three running backs that have significant game-experience, I think Goodson comes in at a higher-level that two of three, which may result in him seeing the field early and often in 2019.
