Jestin Jacobs might have the highest ceiling for anyone in this recruit class, and it is scary to think about as he is already a four-star prospect out of Northmont High School in Clayton, Ohio. The last month was a nervous ones for Iowa fans that follow recruiting as the Ohio State Buckeyes made a late push for the in-state linebacker. However, Jacobs reaffirmed his commitment to the Hawkeyes via Twitter after an in-home visit with Kirk Ferentz and Seth Wallace.

Getting to the tape on Jacobs and I don’t think it’s hyperbole to say that I have never seen speed like Jacobs. Watching him blitz quarterbacks is like watching a torpedo zeroing in on a hapless aircraft carrier. He is also able to deliver big hits and is a pretty sure tackler at that, which has me seeing replays of former Hawkeye and current Cleveland Browns linebacker Christian Kirksey, in my head.

Jacobs appears to be the crown jewel of the 2019 Iowa recruiting class, and with Iowa’s struggle’s at linebacker in 2018, I wouldn’t be shocked at all if Jacobs sees a lot of playing time in 2019.
