Coach Jeff Monken and the Army Black Knights entered the 2018 Armed Forces Bowl looking to set a school record with 11 wins. They had no issues accomplishing this. From the start, this match was completely one-sided.

Army was a 6.5 point favorite and the Black Knights dominated the game. Army quarterback, Kelvin Hopkins Jr., started off the game with back-to-back touchdown runs. At one point in the first half, Hopkins Jr. had four touchdowns in just five rushes. One of those touchdown runs went for 77 yards.  He finished with 170 yards and five touchdowns, and only played for two and a half quarters!

To highlight how pathetic Houston was playing, the halftime score read 42-7. Army opened up the second half with an easy touchdown run by Hopkins Jr. Then, the Cougars took the ball down the field and found themselves in a fourth-and-26 situation on Army’s 30 yard line. Instead of attempting to kick a field goal, or going for the first down, they PUNTED…from the 30 yard line!

Army finished with over 500 yards rushing, and embarrassed the Cougars on the way to a, 70-14 victory.

Let’s take a look at what else can be learned from this weekend’s game.
