5. Expect a big game from Brett Rypien

Boise State typically has a quarterback that is capable of putting up big numbers but also gains a ton of experience and sticks around for a while.

Senior Brett Rypien has already had a successful career as the Broncos’ starting signal caller and he has a last hoorah in the First Responder Bowl.

Rypien led Boise State to a 10-3 regular season and has reaped all the benefits that have come with a career season. He earned the honors of being named the Mountain West Offensive Player of the Year while throwing for 3,705 yards and 30 touchdowns in 2018.

In his four-year career at Boise State, he has racked up more than 13,500 yards and 90 touchdowns –– doing so efficiently at an overall completion percentage of 64 percent.

In the latter stages of the season, Rypien hasn’t produced as much as he did earlier in 2018 but he has another shot at showing why he is worthy of commendation.

His potential for being a draft pick in next year’s NFL Draft combined with the fact that he is playing in his final game in a Broncos’ uniform should fuel his desire to put up monster numbers against the Eagles.
