A battle of unbeatens is set for the Cotton Bowl where Notre Dame football faces Clemson for a College Football Playoff National Championship berth.

More: Picks and predictions for every college football bowl game with confidence points

This is the game that honestly it seems that people have forgotten about in the midst of Alabama and Oklahoma facing off. Understandably enough as the face-off between what is likely the best Alabama team we have ever seen against an Oklahoma team looking to show that a lack of good defense won’t stand in their way is a pretty exciting matchup.

However, the Cotton Bowl is exciting in its own right. This is the battle of unbeaten teams. This is a battle of two teams that have had their ups and downs, but overall found a way to 12-0. That doesn’t happen by accident. Many are doubting the Irish and many are sure that the Tigers, who have been in three of the last four College Football Playoffs, are a shoe in to win.

Is that what will happen? Nobody will know until they play the game. As a prequel to the action on the gridiron it’s time to take a look at five bold predictions for what could be a rather interesting matchup between Notre Dame and Clemson in the 2018 Cotton Bowl.
