The 2018 Camping World Bowl is officially upon us and both Syracuse and West Virginia football will be looking to end the season on high notes.

A West Virginia football game without Will Grier may seem like a waste, but the Mountaineers still have plenty of weapons on the offensive side of the ball to make up for the all-everything quarterback’s absence.

Grier may not be playing, but Dana Holgorsen feels good about his two quarterbacks waiting in the wings — Jack Allison and Trey Lowe III.

Syracuse has had a solid season under Dino Babers’ control and he will have a chance to improve to 10-3 on the year with a win. The Mountaineers won’t go down without a fight, though.

What can we expect from the 2018 Camping World Bowl?

5. West Virginia has two 100-yard rushers

Although Will Grier stole the show on the offensive side of the ball this season, West Virginia possessed a two-headed monster in the backfield with Kennedy McKoy and Martell Pettaway. With Grier sitting out in this one, the run game will be much more important for the Mountaineers.

Pettaway and McKoy each have just one 100-yard rushing game each this season, though. Even with their effective rushing attacks, they didn’t get as much run as they probably should have. They’ll each have breakout performances in the Camping World Bowl against a Syracuse team that allows 164 yards per game on the ground.

Both will have their best collective games of the season, rushing for 100-plus yards each and approaching 250 yards on the ground.

West Virginia will wear down the Syracuse run defense and that could open up the passing attack for sophomore gunslinger Jack Allison as well as freshman Trey Lowe III.
