West Virginia Football: 5 bold predictions for Camping World Bowl vs. Syracuse
2. Jack Allison, Trey Lowe III will out-duel Eric Dungey
When it was announced that Will Grier wouldn’t be playing in the Camping World Bowl in order to prepare for the NFL draft, it seemed like the Mountaineers’ hopes to finish the year 9-3 were crushed. How could this team possibly win without a serious Heisman contender?
With the weapons West Virginia still has on offense, along with a solid offensive line, the Mountaineers shouldn’t skip a beat without Grier.
Eric Dungey has had a great season to close out his Syracuse career and he’s going to have a big day on the ground, but Jack Allison and Trey Lowe III will out-duel the multi-year starter. It may be hard to believe, but these wouldn’t be bold predictions if they weren’t out there.
Allison has only attempted 10 passes this season, completing six for 75 yards and a touchdown and Lowe III has zero pass attempts in his career. This seems like a recipe for disaster, but they’ve had a month to prepare for this.
Those two will combine for more passing yards and a better overall line that Dungey and the Orange through the air.
