4. Jimbo Fisher and Co. will be ready for Dave Doeren

Let us not forget that Jimbo Fisher was most recently from Florida State in the ACC — the same conference that NC State head coach Dave Doeren and his team are members of. These two guys have been around the block together a few times, that is for sure.

The statistic that jumps out at me though? Fisher is 4-1 against a Doeren-coached Wolfpack. That one loss comes from a season ago with an injured quarterback post Alabama matchup with a Seminole team that was in complete disarray. Is that an excuse? Probably not, but it is a true story.

Now, I know what you’re thinking. Both of these coaches are familiar with each other so how in the world does Jimbo Fisher get an upper hand here? It isn’t that 4-1 record that I am looking at, though it does help quite a bit in my argument.

The point is this — Fisher knows how Doeren works and being only a season removed from the ACC, he knows how he works with what he has at NC State. On the other hand, what Fisher has at Texas A&M and the scheme that he is running this season isn’t the exact same as what Doeren experienced with Fisher being the head coach at Florida State.

Trust me when I say that Fisher and company will be ready for this one. They aren’t playing around in any sense of the word. The Aggies will come ready to play behind a coach that knows what he is up against better than what is normal from watching a bit of film.
