3. Momentum favors the maroon and white

Both teams are coming off wins heading into this bowl game. There is no difference in that point. The difference stands in how those games went and how much momentum each gives to the teams that are now playing for the Gator Bowl trophy.

Let’s start with NC State, who cruised to victory against East Carolina 58-3 in the last week of the season. A rout like that is all fun and games until you realize that it has done nothing for you in terms of preparation for a bowl game against a team from a conference that is doing everything they can to be at the top of the College Football food chain so to speak.

On the other hand, you have Texas A&M. You know that team that played the seven-overtime game against LSU to close out the regular season? Yeah, that one. Winning that game, the one that spanned enough time and used enough offense to constitute two entire football games is a wave of momentum the Aggies have ridden through the early signing period and now into the Gator Bowl. At this point, I’m not sure there is much that the Aggies aren’t ready for after giving their all in a game like that.

It isn’t just about winning. It’s about the quality of the win and the amount of fight that had to be put into winning the game itself. The Aggies have the momentum heading into this one.
