LSU Football: 5 bold predictions for 2019 Fiesta Bowl vs. UCF
By Shelbie Warr
An undefeated UCF team takes on LSU football which is reeling from a seven overtime loss to Texas A&M. This one is shaping up to be a great one.
UCF is without quarterback McKenzie Milton after a gruesome right leg injury took him out of contention against USF. Milton will now undergo his fifth surgery on that knee, hoping to keep his hopes for playing in 2019 alive. While that is a hopefully promising story, the Golden Knights will have to move on without him and prepare to take on LSU.
Speaking of LSU, they are still reeling for a seven-overtime loss in Aggieland in which they drenched their coach in Gatorade believing that victory was on the horizon just to have it snatched away. If you think that isn’t motivation, I don’t know what else would be.
Now, these two teams are set to face off in the Fiesta Bowl on New Years Day. Let’s get bold y’all.
5. Being left out of the CFB Playoff will have UCF jacked
For the second straight year, UCF was left out of the College Football Playoff despite sitting with an undefeated record and a conference championship. Instead, Oklahoma (12-1) was chosen ahead of them who just got demolished by Alabama. Yeah, I know all you are hearing about is how Oklahoma fought and fought but let’s be real, Alabama had that game won by the end of the first quarter and we all know it.
Meanwhile, an undefeated UCF team sits getting ready for another New Years Six bowl against an SEC team. Last season it was Auburn, who they demolished in the Peach Bowl. Now, it’s LSU.
At this point, UCF is ready to finally be respected as one of college football’s bigger powers. This team is motivated by one thing: disrespect. All we can do is hope they use that disrespect to fight harder than Notre Dame did against Clemson.
