3. The turnover margin will be huge in this one

It is no secret that LSU thrives off of turnovers. However, UCF does too. The question now is this, which team will win the turnover battle. Will it be a UCF team who has shown that they are quite good at getting the ball from the opposing offense or an LSU team that has shown that taking care of the ball is just as important as creating turnovers?

Let’s start with LSU, namely two players that nearly everyone should have circled heading into this one- Greedy Williams and Grant Delpit. These two have been ball hawks for LSU. Sadly though, Greedy has declared for the 2019 Draft and chosen to sit this one out. That is a big deal for LSU, but they still have Grant Delpit — one of the top safeties in college football. If the Tigers win the turnover battle, I’d be willing to bet that it goes straight through Delpit.

For UCF though, they aren’t a slouch either when it comes to forcing turnovers. The Golden Knights crush the margin with a +14 on the year. Of course, the big issue for them now is the fact that they did turn the ball over quite a bit against Memphis in the title game.

While they very likely need to force turnovers to win this one, they can’t hand the ball over to LSU on a whim like they did against Memphis. It will spell disaster for the Golden Knights of UCF in a hurry.
