1. Dino Babers

Syracuse head coach Dino Babers needs to be the Miami Hurricanes top priority. Babers finished 2018 with a 10-3 record including a bowl win over West Virginia. He’s won everywhere he’s been including doormats Norther Illinois (12 wins) and Bowling Green (18-9 record). Babers record at Syracuse is 18-19 but considering the Orange were all but dead when he took over, that’s quite a feat.

Syracuse finished the season 43rd in the S&P+, 44th on offense, 46th on defense and 1st overall in kicking. Babers was able to develop quarterback Eric Dungey into a household name. Over four seasons at Syracuse Dungey threw for over 9,000 yards and 53 touchdowns while adding another 35 scores on the ground.

What Babers could bring to Miami that the other top candidates can’t is experience in the ACC. Babers has Syracuse not only winning ACC football games, but also knocking off Clemson in 2017 and nearly beating the Tigers in 2018. He has a recipe for success at three stops, including a Power 5 stop in Miami’s same conference.
