3. Georgia has a bone to pick and something to prove

This is a Bulldog team that just a year ago was playing for a national title against Alabama in the first all SEC title game of the playoff era. A strong second half from Alabama doomed the Bulldogs, but it is still something to be proud of.

Fast forward a year and the Bulldogs faced off once again against the Tide — this time in the SEC title game. It came down to the final play and Alabama got the best of Georgia once again, but it was still a tough fight none the less.

Now, Alabama just rolled over Oklahoma and Clemson did the same to Notre Dame. So, what does all this have to do with the Sugar Bowl? Well, this is a Georgia team that was playing for the spot that Oklahoma got, the spot that Notre Dame was given. Now that both of those teams have been rolled over by Clemson and Alabama — Georgia is rightfully upset that they could have done better, but didn’t get the chance.

Simply put, Georgia has something to prove. What is that? They have to prove that they deserve their New Year’s Six spot and could have done better than either Oklahoma or Notre Dame in the Playoff given the chance. Texas will just be the team that sadly had to be sacrificed to an angry Bulldog team.
