2. The Texas defense hasn’t been all that great

While we spend time talking about how great the Georgia Bulldog offense has been, we have to look at the unit that will be directly opposite of them — that Texas defense. Do the Longhorns have a couple impressive wins from this season? Sure, but none of them are due to the defensive play that much is for sure.

Let’s talk defensive struggles shall we? So far, we have learned that the Texas defense can be hammered by good, efficient passers, giving up 240 yards or more eight times this season. There are only 12 games, so that isn’t exactly a statistic to be proud of. Now, they have to face one of the most efficient in the game as they take on Jake Fromm. In the last nine games, Texas has allowed 19 touchdown passes with just five picks. Not too great a statistic either.

Over the last five games, Texas has also allowed opposing offenses to convert about half the time on third down. Look for that percentage to go even higher against Jake Fromm and his offense who have been one of the best at doing exactly that.

Basically, to win this game, Texas has to figure out how to do this defensive thing because if they don’t, this game could be less than fun for the Longhorn faithful in the stands and around the great state of Texas.
