Ohio State football: 5 bold predictions for Rose Bowl clash vs. Washington
By Shelbie Warr
3. Dwayne Haskins will be the X-factor for Ohio State
This kid finished third in the Heisman voting. This kid dismantled a touted Michigan offense. This kid has been one of the best players in the league this year, the game against Purdue notwithstanding of course. He hasn’t made an official draft decision, but says he is ready for the NFL. All of that considered, he will be playing in the Rose Bowl and will be ready to take on the Washington Huskies highly touted pass rush.
This season, Haskins finished with a 70 percent completion rate for 4,580 yards and 47 touchdowns. That number jumps out at literally anyone who looks at it and it will be a big deal in this game. Everyone talks about Kyler Murray and Tua Tagovailoa, but no one is giving Haskins the hype he deserves and he will definitely show the world that is the worst thing you could do.
My bold prediction? Haskins wins this game for the Ohio State Buckeyes. Yeah, the Washington Huskies have a great pass rush. No one is debating that, but Haskins is just better by a long shot and he will give his Buckeyes the victory in this one. All he has to do is get the offense going early and make Washington try to keep up the pace. Plot twist — they can’t do it.
