Penn State football is looking for its 30th bowl victory of all-time. Here are five reasons they get the win over Kentucky in the Citrus Bowl.
A pair of nine-win teams meet in Orlando on New Year’s Day as Penn State and Kentucky face-off in the Citrus Bowl. This will be the sixth meeting all-time between the schools with Penn State holding a 3-2 advantage. They have not met since the 1999 Outback Bowl.
Kentucky has some all-conference players who will be playing on Sundays next fall, including running back Benny Snell and linebacker Josh Allen. They will be a challenge for the Lions, but can Kentucky pull the upset? It is of course possible, but here are five reasons we think Penn State holds off the upset-minded Kentucky.
5. Home game in Orlando
When it comes to bowl games, Penn State fans travel well no matter the destination. It is a big reason why bowls love the Lions. They bring money and butts in seats. It should be no different in Orlando in the Citrus Bowl.
It has been a special season for Kentucky, no question. The potential to cap a 10 win year does not come around often for the Wildcats. The Wildcat fans will show up, but Penn State takes it to another level. James Franklin has called for a White Out.

Not only are Penn State fans ready to leave the cold north and travel to sunny Florida, but there is a sizable portion of alums already living in Florida. Expect Nittany Lions fans to show up in droves in their white, ready to be loud and cheer on their team to a third straight double-digit winning season. Should be Happy Valley south in the Citrus Bowl.
