Every Group of Five team has now completed their 2018 season schedules. Where did the top teams land in the mid-major pecking order after the bowl season?
Another year of college football is in the books for the Group of Five, and that means it is time to take stock of how things went down for the mid-major conferences of the FBS and their member institutions. For several teams, things collapsed at the end. Others took full advantage of their bowl opportunities to make noise heading into the offseason.
Nobody finished undefeated in the Group of Five ranks this season, though, as UCF saw their 25-game winning streak come to an end against LSU. The Knights were unable to win their second straight New Year’s Six appearance as the Tigers ceded a first-quarter advantage to UCF before running away with the game in the second and third quarters. Ultimately, Ed Orgeron’s crew held on for a one-score victory in the desert that snapped the run of successes for the Knights.

Now that 2019 is upon us, let’s dive in and sort out the pecking order in the final edition of the Group of Five Power Rankings for the 2018 season.
