A new way of coaching

Dabo Swinney is transforming the way college football is being coached. With the retirement of Urban Meyer, Dabo joins Nick Saban as the only other active college football coach with multiple National Championships.

Only, Swinney is winning these titles by the application of a much different approach than what has been used in the past. Many coaches have tendencies to get more involved in the X’s and O’s of the side of the ball they are most comfortable. For example, Nick Saban is heavily invested in his defense. Coach Swinney stays away from that approach.

Dabo leans on his ability to inspire players and his trust in his coaching staff. With “fewer hands on” as one may say, Dabo Swinney can keep a broader perspective on the game and get creative in his schematics. Furthermore, Coach Swinney is well-known to be a player’s coach. He is loved by the student-athletes which he leads, and he loves them back. Swinney stands up for his players, makes the tough decisions when necessary, and continues to win.

In 10 years, we will be looking at Dabo Swinney as a trailblazer in the way college football is coached.
