HONORABLE MENTION: A forced fumble by…the punter?

Punters are people too y’all. At least, that is what Drew Kaser told us when he was the one booting off the ball when the Aggie offense failed to put together a semi decent drive. Enough about that though, let’s talk about the highlight that earned the honorable mention spotlight in our countdown:

Yeah, you watched that right. Aggie punter Braden Mann tracked down the South Carolina returner who dared turn his majestic punt into a big time return and knocked the ball loose. You know any other punter with that much fight, that much juice? I didn’t think so.

Of course, it is important to note that Mann was originally a linebacker before injuries forced him to move to punting. Mann averaged 51 yards per punt on 50 attempts to snap the NCAA single-season record, previously held by LSU’s Chad Kessler in 1997. He also booted 14 punts of 60-or-more yards, breaking his second NCAA record of the season. The longest of which was his 82 yarder against Kentucky, yeah, you heard me 82 yards.

Most importantly, Braden Mann won the Ray Guy Award, recognizing him as the best punter in the nation.
