9. Jace Sternberger carrying defenders downfield vs. South Carolina

I’d like to start this one off by saying that while Sternberger only makes my countdown one time in terms of top plays, he is one of the top players from the season. New receiver coach Dameyune Craig tracked down Sternberger at Oklahoma A&M, a community college quite. He started at the University of Kansas under former Aggie wideout coach David Beaty. When that didn’t work out, he took the JUCO route.

Many didn’t give Sternberger a second look. Many didn’t think he would make it at a big-time program like Texas A&M. However, he did that and so much more. He has become one of the best tight ends to wear an Aggie uniform and all because they finally got a coach who uses the position to its full potential. Of course, it helps when you have a player that it takes almost four defenders to take down.

The play that makes the countdown here? Jace Sternberger simply carrying guys 20 yards downfield. Of course, finding a video of just that play was hard, so enjoy the entirety of his highlights from that matchup. The John Mackey Award finalist was one of the best tight ends in the country this year and it was seen time and time again. The sheer athleticism and strength shown by Jace Sternberger in this play puts it at No. 9 in our countdown.

He has since declared for the NFL Draft, so 2018 was his first and last year in an Aggie uniform. However, what a year it was for the kid from Oklahoma.
