5. Junior linebacker Tyrel Dodson‘s Pick Six vs. North Carolina State

Another underclassmen who has declared for the draft is junior linebacker Tyrel Dodson. The kid from Franklin, Tennessee has made a name for himself at Texas A&M and many are heartbroken to see him go, rightfully so. He has been a household name for Aggie fans from the moment he stepped onto the field and as a result, he’s become a fan favorite.

However, in any case, Dodson made a game-changing play against NC State in the Gator Bowl that comes in at No. 5 in our countdown: his pick-six in the opening five minutes in the third quarter to begin what would become a big momentum and point swing in favor of Texas A&M. A video of the play in Tyrel running through the Wolfpack offensive attack turned defensive can be seen below.

The linebacking corps seem to be particularly thin, especially with such a huge member like Tyrel Dodson declaring for the NFL Draft. Of course, the signing class will be a boost for this program, but the unit will be extremely young in the coming season.

No matter what though, Texas A&M is thankful for everything that Dodson has done for this program. In his goodbye to Aggieland, he mentioned that he had found a second home in College Station. He mentions how he has been treated like family and as a result, his family has grown due to who he has met at Texas A&M. That, to me, is a beautiful thing to include in that kind of statement.
