4. NC State trashes ECU 58-3

It was only a short while ago that East Carolina came to Raleigh and ran right over the Wolfpack en route to a 10-win season. But oh, how far away that seems now. NC State was supposed to play West Virginia, but Hurricane Florence cancelled that match-up and forced NC State to find an alternative opponent.

East Carolina limped to a three-win season behind an abysmal offense and an equally bad defense. It fired its coach during the week leading up to the game. Everything set up for a Wolfpack beatdown and it did not disappoint.

NC State led 17-0 after the first quarter and 27-0 at half. The game was capped with center Garrett Bradbury scoring a rushing touchdown and Dave Doeren icing the kicker up 58-0.

It was a masterful performance for the Wolfpack over a hapless East Carolina squad but it was celebrated, because the Wolfpack was 0-2 against the Pirates under Doeren, losing on a last second missed field goal and the aforementioned beatdown. The Pirates were the class of North Carolina for one year but the football tides have changed quickly.
