2. The Rivalry Win vs. Florida State: November 24, 2018

This is the biggest game of the season year after year for the Gators. Everything seems to be leading up to this, leading up to the fight with Florida State. When Jimbo Fisher, now the head coach at Texas A&M, was at Florida State it was certainly a harder matchup. Now, with Willie Taggart at the Seminoles’ helm and the Gators returning to national prominence, this one seems to be an easy win for the Gators.

In this one, it was Florida from start to finish in a 41-14 victory over the Seminoles. At that point, Florida sat at No. 11 in the nation after quite the successful season with victories that we have already highlighted above. Now, however, was the big enchilada. Now, it was time to take on Florida State.

This one was a complete game all around for the Gators. Franks battled from the start and was able to put up some great offensive numbers. The defense held the Seminoles to all of two touchdowns in four quarters of play. Dan Mullen proved that he could not only show up but excel in big games. Simply put, this was icing on the cake for the Gators who already felt like they had put together quite the resume heading into bowl contention.
