2. Zack Moss could be Pac-12’s best running back in 2019

I’ll admit, I was ready to pencil Zack Moss in for the NFL draft after a second straight 1,000-yard rushing campaign. It’s tough to hold onto top-tier running backs given the short shelf life they have and demand in the NFL, but Moss could be back as the Pac-12’s very best running back once 2019 rolls around.

Moss had his best season yet, given the production and yards per carry effectiveness, but he finished short of his career-high in rushing yards because he missed five games. Had he played in each game, he would have had about 1,500 rushing yards and still a career-best in touchdowns which he had in 2018 with 11 scores. Also, his 6.1 yards per touch was a career-high.

Not only is moss an effective runner with great vision, but he’s extremely difficult to bring down with his 5-10, 215-pound frame. He’s going to be back to wreak havoc on the Pac-12 next year.

Moss announcing his return for one final season is huge news for the Utes and the rest of the offense as he could put the run game on his back and make the All-Pac-12 first team.
