5. Saquon was really good

Saquon Barkley was drafted second overall in the 2018 NFL Draft after being arguably the most talented Penn State player ever. He was named to the Pro Bowl this year while playing on a below average team and running behind a below average offensive line.

Barkley made many clutch plays in 2017 and was the guy Penn State relied on to make things happen. Without him in 2017, McSorley was not as effective and there was no clear star offensively.

Initially, Miles Sanders looked like he may be that player for Penn State in 2018. He had big games against Pittsburgh and Illinois early in the season. Then, he became more inconsistent and was unable to produce many games when opposing defenses played the run and forced Penn State to pass.

Sanders will now go on to the NFL and may be a very good back. He was not an elite player like Barkley though, and that showed against better defenses like Ohio State and Michigan.
