South Carolina Gamecocks: Most likely to be overhyped…again.

I don’t even think the Gamecock faithful will argue with me on this one because I am sure they are sick of being disappointed by a team that consistently underachieves year after year. I’m going to be honest with you. If you asked me to sit down and name a handful of players on this team I couldn’t do it. Why?  Because they are only talked about at the start of the season and by the middle of it everyone has remembered that this team is once again nothing of merit.

I want South Carolina to be good, don’t get me wrong. Someone has to challenge Georgia for the division. However, at this point, it seems that Kentucky and Florida have that spot all but locked up. On that note then, what hole does South Carolina fill? Vanderbilt and Missouri at the moment have the bottom all locked up, so that leaves them dead center.

South Carolina isn’t going to do anything special in 2019. They aren’t going to be the new big man in town. They aren’t going to take down the big names in the SEC East and they certainly aren’t going to do much of anything while Will Muschamp is still the head coach.
