Texas A&M Aggies: Most likely to challenge for the West
The Texas A&M Aggies made quite the impression in 2018. They lost to Auburn and Mississippi State, yes, and those losses were depressing, to say the least. However, the other two losses came to eventual national champion Clemson and runner-up Alabama. No shame in that game, that much is for sure. They ended the season on a high note though, finishing with a nice little win streak and being ranked to boot. To say that Jimbo Fisher has turned this team around would be putting it mildly.
Of course, I couldn’t very well put the Aggies as the favorite to win the division. That is for two reasons. One, I didn’t want to seem biased as an Aggie fan myself. Two, the schedule that they have to face is not an easy one at all. This is likely one of the more difficult schedules across the board as this team takes on Alabama, Clemson, Georgia and LSU all in one season. Throw in the rest of the SEC West and things get more and more difficult.
Texas A&M is not yet in a place that they could be outright voted on to win the conference, much less their division. However, they will challenge for it and that in itself is something to be proud of considering where this team came from and how much they have already grown.
