LSU football will contend as for the SEC West title in 2019. However, before we get too excited, let’s talk about a few of the top moments from the 2018 season.

The LSU Tigers put together a 10 win season that they are extremely excited about. The future looks bright and it seems as if they are finally getting to where they could be challenging Alabama for that coveted SEC West title. Before we get to that though, let’s talk about the great moments that made up the 2018 season to remember.

5. Taking down Miami to open the season.

The Miami Hurricanes weren’t great this season, let us get that out there. However, due to a strong 2017 campaign, that team sat at No. 8 in the nation when the season opened in September. This isn’t about how the Miami season didn’t become what it could have been and all of that. This is about LSU, who came into that game sitting at No. 25, barely holding on to any ranking at all.

The LSU Tigers upset Miami handily, 33-17. It became very clear that without strong defense Miami wasn’t going to win much of anything and they weren’t able to shut down the offense that LSU’s Joe Burrow put up against them. They couldn’t seem to force turnovers and therefore the Tiger offense was up and running early and often. Running back Nick Brosette also had quite the season debut, running for 125 yards and two touchdowns.

This game set the tone for LSU’s season and made them feel as if they could accomplish anything. That feeling, that confidence from a win such as this one really allowed the team to face the season with a mentality that said “I can do anything.”
